South India contains numerous exciting tourism destinations. Meenakshi Temple Meenakshi Temple is one of the most famous attractions in southern part of the country. It is located in city Madurai of state Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva his wife Parvati who is also known as Meenakshi. This temple is the example of the fine and complex Indian art and architecture. Bandipur National Park This is one of the most famous wildlife destinations of South India. This park is located in Chamarajanagar district of state Karnataka. This park is cover approximately 874 sq-km area. Bengal Tigers and Indian Elephants are the major attractions of this park. This park is the natural habitant of more than 3000 elephants. Sloth bear, jackals, deer and leopard are the other attractions of this park.
Kerala Backwaters Backwaters of Kerala are also one of the major attractions of South India. There are various exciting destinations in Kerala for backwaters. Alleppey and Kumarakom are the most famous backwater places of in this state. Here tourists can enjoy the romantic houseboat journeys.
