What exactly is HTML and CSS validation and why is it necessary and important? This is a common question that people keep often asking. The main purpose of html and css validation basically revolves around two sets of people. One set of people who understand the main advantage associated with it and there are the other set of people who know the importance of it but are not very convinced about the importance of such validation. So, before understanding the importance of the whole thing it is important to know what it is all about. Basically the main purpose of validating either html or CSS is to ensure that the web pages you have on the cyberspace are error free. Like PSD to HTML or PSD to CSS the main purpose of such validation is to ensure by a set of instructions and try to find out that there are no problems of inconsistencies that could over a period of time become very difficult to manage and rectify.
To begin the whole process it is important that HTML validation takes place in the right earnest. By undertaking such validation, you are ensuring that your web pages are compliant with the standards that have been set by W3 Consortium. By the way W3 Consortium is an international apex body that issues standards to be followed by HTML. There are several validators involved in this process and discussing each of one them in this small article could be problematic. Hence as we do in the case of psd to css and PSD to XHTML/HTML validation, it would always be better to have a better idea about HTML and CSS validation by spending some quality time on the internet.
CSS Validators also do the same thing as it is done in HTML validation and they basically check the compliance of Cascading Style Sheets standards for which they are set by W3 Consortium. There are also certain CSS validators that apart from checking errors, also explain to the user the type of browser that is compatible with various types of CSS platforms. This is extremely important because CSS implementation is different for different browsers and hence the developer should have a good knowledge of it.
