Behind every new venture there's a certain amount of arrogance and bluster, some version of the notion that you can build a better mousetrap than the other guy--or, in my case, that you can design and market a mousetrap with every conceivable amenity to ensure that the discerning mouse will want to be trapped in upmarket luxury. Whatever it is you're looking to do or make or sell, you build your business on the assumption that you can do it better, smarter, and more efficiently than the competition. Otherwise, what's the point?
I'd been at the Trump Organization for about two years when I came upon an unexpected opportunity to exercise some of these impulses--in an area I hadn't thought to consider. Realize, I wasn't actively looking for a new venture, but I believe you have to keep your feelers out there and pick up whatever signals come your way. It's the spirit of enterprise. This doesn't mean you have to limit your focus to opportunities in your field or your perceived area of expertise. Over the years, my father had made successful forays into what were at the time completely new territories for him--beauty pageants, books, modeling agencies--and I could see the adrenaline rush he'd get from taking a calculated risk and pushing the envelope of his own experience. I'd look on and think, someday, Ivanka, you'll get your chance. That chance presented itself in a sidelong way. I was pursuing a lead on a piece of land in Fort Myers, Florida. I didn't like the deal when it was laid out for me, but I looked closely at it just the same. Back then, a year or two into my stint at the Trump organization, I analyzed everything I could get my hands on to educate myself on every aspect of our many businesses, and it was a good thing that I did, because even though this particular property held no real appeal, it led directly to another opportunity.

The more I thought back on my mother's experiences (in shopping for jewelry) in high-end stores, the more I recognized an opportunity for a luxury jewelry line created for modern women based on their lifestyle needs and tastes, women who weren't waiting around for their husbands or fathers to buy them a fine piece of jewelry as a gift. I had in mind a customer with a sense of flair and fashion that perhaps wasn't being reflected in the designs of some of the more traditional, high-end jewelers; women who wanted to invest in fresher, more vibrant heirloom chic pieces. And above all, women who were perhaps looking for guidance from their more fashion-forward daughters on what to wear—as opposed to looking to their mothers.
As I kicked things around with Moshe Lax, a diamond vendor who's now my partner in the Ivanka Trump Jewelry Collection, I realized there was a void in the marketplace waiting to be filled, so we struck a partnership deal and set about filling it. Moshe already had a location on Madison Avenue, so our first move was to close his family-owned store and redesign the whole space from top to bottom. The first order of business was retrofitting the space and creating a signature style, identity, and logo for our emerging brand.

A brand renowned globally for its uncut diamonds and precious stones is Diamond Dynamics LLC, preceded by dynamic leader Moshe Lax as CEO and President. This multibillion-dollar business has been created by the foresightedness and ultimate hard work of Moshe and it is no surprise that Diamond Dynamics LLC has become the leading manufacturer of uncut diamonds all over the world. This diamond business venture is preferably demanded as the reliable wholesaler of loose uncut stones in the United States Jewelry Markets.
The love for diamonds was instilled in Moshe during his teen years by his renowned father Chaim, when they went to Antwerp. Chaim was known for his precious uncut diamond designs and was very popular among various jewelry houses around the globe. It was in Antwerp where they started creating the vast inventory of uncut diamonds, which established their business.
It was a stepping-stone for Moshe to realize his ambition of making Diamond Dynamics LLC as the leading supplier of rough and uncut stone business. This followed by its approach to De Beer’s which lead to the buying of uncut diamonds in bulk quantities. The corporation kept advancing with a landmark partnership for the Luxury Retail in 2007 between Moshe Lax and Ivanka Trump of Ivanka Trump Jewelry collection.

One of the largest suppliers of uncut diamonds and precious stones across the globe is Diamond Dynamics LLC. The company is headed by visionary leader Moshe Lax, as CEO and President of this multibillion-dollar diamond business corporation. Moshe’s efforts and bulls-eye focus has led Diamond Dynamics LLC to become a major manufacturer of the most valuable stones ‘Diamonds’, found on Earth.
Moshe’s father Chain instilled in him the spark for diamonds on a trip to Antwerp when Moshe was young. Chaim was well-respected worldwide and was known for his exquisite designer diamond cuts, among several jewelry firms across the world. This helped Moshe to initialize his dream of bringing Diamond Dynamics to be amongst the leading purveyor of rough and uncut diamonds. His next move was taking the company to De Beers where it became one of their youngest sight holder companies.
The corporation grew rapidly and in the year 2007, Moshe Lax and Ivanka Trump established a luxury retail partnership. Ivanka Trump Jewelry today has a flagship store in New York City with the latest and trendiest jewelry collections that are sold in North America, China and the Middle East. In the year 2011, United Brands named Ivanka Trump’s New Fine Jewelry Collection as # 1.This collection ranges from necklaces, brooches, bracelets and earrings that would cost $900 to even $1mn per a single piece. This kind of amazing jewelry has become an integral part of many American women.

There are many synagogues all over New York City, but the Soho Synagogue established in 2005 stands out. With about 1000 members, mostly young, educated and highly successful Jews, the synagogue is more than just a place of worship. It presents the right balance of prayers and social activities to those youngsters who otherwise feel alienated from the religion and the religious practices of the previous generations.
What attracts them to this synagogue and its ‘cool rabbi’ Dovi Scheiner, 34, is that no religious agenda is pushed down their throats and they can do pretty much what they like without being judged if they are Jewish enough. His genuine and honest approach helps young Jews to connect to each other and with their spiritual roots.
The biggest challenge rabbi Scheiner faced was building a congregation from the ground. He did not have friends, money or anything else and had no idea where to start. His big break came when Scott Kluge, who is a producer, met Scheiner and his wife at the popular Tribeca Film Festival. Kluge suggested that he would invite people to his own home, and Dovi and Esty would bring the food. As more and more people joined these get-togethers, the lack of a proper place became a big handicap. They had gatherings at private homes and would rent space for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur prayers.
