Kerala is the most beautiful and the visited place in India and across the world It is worldwide famous for its extensive geographical feature and captivating landscape. The celebration of these festivals takes place with elaborate ceremonies, flag hoisting, special prayers, mass feasts. These festivals is accompanied and witnessed by crowds which include the devotees and the visitors. These festivals are accompanied by classical dances, folk music, elephant rallies, stage shows, street plays, floral decorations, water carnivals, fireworks displays, traditional rituals and much more. Tourists love to visit Kerala to witness these festivals and enjoy their holidays.

Kerala is a state which celebrates many festivals and events, the event of Kerala boat race also known as the Snake boat race is held every year during the month of August first week at the Punnamada at Alappuzha. This event is celebrated with Giant snake boats called “Chundanvalloms” which has the seat of hundred rowers taking part in the contest. This event is observed and witnessed by many visitors from across the globe; the winner of this boat race is presented by National Nehru Trophy. This sporting event of boat race attracts many local citizens as well as tourists from near and far away places.

These boat races are significant events as it teaches them to live in harmony with the people as well as the nature. It also signifies the excellent team spirit, integration and amity of the people. It is an amazing sight to see and fill the tourists and the visitors with thrill and excitement. These boat races are also associated with curious legends and myths regarding their origin.
