Air Pacific to Outsource Its Reservation Services

Air Pacific and Pacific Sun will outsource their reservation services to an independently owned global contact specialist named “Mindpearl “. This will be effective from 1st November, 2009.
Presently, the reservation centres of Air Pacific are in New Zealand, Australia and Fiji. These reservation centres will be closed and all the calls will routed to Mindpearl’s 24 Hour / 7 Day per week Call Centre in Suva. Subsequently, the calls from places in South Pacific will be cutover and in the year 2010 when the contract expires, all calls will be directed to Mindpearl’s call centre in Fiji.
The new call centre will provide customer service to Air Pacific and Pacific Sun. This contact centre will provide new reservations; help with customer queries, ticket purchases and booking alterations. This will provide enhanced customer service for customers in Fiji and improved services across all Air Pacific destinations.
Currently Air Pacific and Pacific Sun reservations and call centre services will be provided in Fiji from 8:00 to 20:00 which is 7 days a week till October 31st when the cutover to new Mindpearl call centre will occur.
After October 2009, seventeen jobs at the call centres of Air Pacific and Pacific Sun in Nadi will become redundant. The staff occupying those jobs will be offered the opportunity to redeploy limited number of roles in Air Pacific or be considered to join Mindpearl. Redundancy payments will be provided for those who quit Air Pacific whether or not they join Mindpearl or not.
The existing call centres in New Zealand, Australia and USA are contracted by Air Pacific to third parties. These jobs will be transferred to twenty nine Fiji citizens initially with more positions to be created as Air Pacific and Pacific Sun expand.
The MD and CEO of Air Pacific, John Campbell has welcomed Mindpearl to Fiji and is excited about the new job opportunities. A competitive tender to manage the call centre of Air Pacific was undertaken by companies from Australia, New Zealand and Fiji submitting their bids as well consideration from Air Pacific to build an in-house call centre.
Mindpearl won the contract due to its techniques, tools, service, expertise as well as cost effective service delivery. The chief Executive Officer of Mindpearl, William Pattison said that, Mindpearl welcomes Fiji’s national and regional airline, Air Pacific and Pacific Sun as the launch customers in Fiji.
The company’s target is to grow the facility and accommodate at least 2000 employees within the next three years. With a track record of ten years and operations in Australia, Spain, South Africa and Fiji, Mindpearl provides 24/7 services to some of the leading airlines around the world in more than 20 different languages.
Mindpearl serves to American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Libyan Airlines. Currently, Mindpearl is excited to broaden its service delivery to Air Pacific and its sister concern Pacific Sun.
