Flora of Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary The park features rich and diverse flora. The major part of the park is covered by dense and tall elephant grass. The park consists of four major types of vegetations namely alluvial inundated grasslands, tropical moist mixes deciduous forests, alluvial savanna woodlands, and tropical semi-evergreen forests. There are also many different varieties of aquatic floras found in the lakes & ponds and along with the river shores inside the park.

Fauna of Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary The park is internationally famous with a significant population of royal Bengal tigers, swamp deer, wild water buffalos, Indian elephants, and one-horned rhinos. Other animals found in the park are leopard cats, jungle cats, otters, capped langurs, hoolock gibbons, deer, barahsingha, wild boar, golden jackal, etc. Pythons and monitor lizards also can be spotted in the park. Tiger is the national animal of India. It is the essence of Indian jungles. India was known to have a bog population of tiger.
